Beautiful area with many hiking options. The view from the first peaks of Lake Tahoe are breathtaking. A bit strenuous but not too difficult.

A quick drive from the home (about half way to Kings Beach, under 10 minutes away), this is a nice trail to hike. The views are amazing and it is well maintained. Bring LOTS of water!!!! We like to go in the early morning or at dusk to avoid the hottest part of the day

About a mile or so up the Rim Trail you will get an option on the left to take the Summit Spur trail. In total about a 45 min hike up. Excellent 220 degree view of the lake...one of the best short hikes around.

Amazing expansive lake views all along the trail. One of the closest trail heads to Kings Beach. Can hike in either direction on the Tahoe Rim Trail. For a relatively short (1.5 miles) and super satisfying hike I recommend hiking east (up the hill from the parking) to the "View Point" rock outcropping. Follow the signs :)
