ITINERARIO DECUMANO SUPERIORE [27] - CHIESE DEI SANTI APOSTOLI E SAN GIOVANNI A CARBONARA The church of the Holy Apostles - founded around 468 by Bishop Sotero - is one of the richest of Naples, despite the "poor" appearance of its facade. Its interior pictorial decoration makes it one of the major expressions of the baroque style in the city of Naples. The church of San Giovanni a Carbonara is famous for its treasures and illustrious tombs. The temple of the Baptist was erected on a piece of land intended for the emplacement of incinerated waste during the Middle Ages.
