I'm picky with my wine and only enjoyed a few. This is a nice day trip to do a flight tasting and enjoy upcountry views.

If you're looking for a wine tasting look no further than Maui Wine, formerly called Tedeschi Vineyards. There's a gift shop, walking paths, and grounds where King Kalākaua (The Merrie Monarch) used to host hula performances. Look for the circle of carved tree trunks; that's where the performances would happen. Across the street is the Ulupalakua Ranch store where you can dine on elk burgers and shop lots of paniolo (cowboy) goodies. The wine we've given you in your studio is made from grapes on these sprawling hillsides and Mr. Cost has painted many paintings from this region.

Beautiful Small Winery in Upcountry Maui. Try the Pineapple Champagne! Lot of great local wines.

Free tours and free sampling (how can you go wrong). Opposite them you can have a decent elk burger.
