Town beach of Narragansett; mile long with white fine sand and decent waves for surfing. Swimming, sand castles, skim boarding - surf board rentals available. Weekly movies and music provided by the town. Parking limited, must go early or park along the sea wall.

Beautiful Beach, Limited parking and daily passes are required. Local tip to head there afterhours for a sunset stroll.

The Narragansett Town Beach is a gem, with soft sand, views of The Towers, and vigorous waves perfect for surfing or boogie boarding. Restaurants are within walking distance, and the daily non-resident fee is a small price to pay for access to a beach that evokes all of the Rhode Island shore's beauty and history. It's far from your only option, though. Scarborough State Beach in Narragansett is one of the state's most popular destinations, and Roger Wheeler State Beach and Salty Brine State Beach both offer a quieter vibe and calmer surf, so they're well-suited for families with young children.

Our personal favorite, but it’s probably best to avoid it on the weekends unless you get there very early. You can pay to park during the week (the parking lots usually fill up pretty early), or park for free along the sea wall near the beach. You also have to pay to get on the beach, but it’s a beautiful spot.
