Lovely Egyptian section with a real mummy. The history of Bolton section is also interesting. The aquarium is small so only need about 15mins to see all the fish. Both the museum & aquarium are in the library, so if you plan your visit with children they can enjoy a story telling session and sometimes get to play dress and dance, depending on what's on.

At Bolton Central Library and Museum they have a wide range of activities and resources to entertain the whole family. Think freshwater fish and you'll be on the right lines!
