Great Boardwalk (2.5 miles) with food kiosks and special events also Great restaurant and night life is legendary. 5 Miles a way 15 min car drive.

You can't ask for better provisions for a day at the beach. Sandy beaches, beautiful boardwalk, street food, food trucks, ice cream, bicycle rentals you can check out with your phone, surf lessons, people watching, and cute shops or stands (depending on what event is going on that weekend).

Beautiful beach 1.5 hours from Brooklyn on the southern most point of Long Island. To get there, take the Nostrand Avenue C Train to Penn Station 34th street. Then switch to the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) to Long Beach. If you leave early in the morning, it's a great all day activity for the family.
