Gotta get a matza ball soup. Gotta get a sandwich, any sandwich. Sit at the counter, not a table. It really takes you back to old New York, this place.

iconic New York sandwich shop interior, probably straight from the 1950's..way cheaper and better than Katz's. Oh, and it's raising new york's cholestrol since 1929, so you know it's good!

Classic New York LUNCH COUNTER near the Flatiron Building on 5th Ave. HOURS: Mon-Sat, 8am - 5pm, Sun closed. Best Pastrami & Tuna Melt sandwiches hands down. Don’t forget to get a satisfying side of Matzo Ball Soup and enjoy your time travel to a Mid-20th-Century New York lunch break. Opened in 1929, this iconic Jewish deli had to close due to pandemic hardship in 2021, but got resurrected by the amazing team at Court St. Grocers, who are contemporary sandwich magicians. They kept Eisenberg’s old storefront and most popular menu items, but the restaurant now runs officially under the name “S&P Sandwich Shop”.
