加州鄧斯繆爾(Dunsmuir)

When deciding whether to become an Airbnb Host, it is important for you to understand the laws in your municipality. As a platform and marketplace we do not provide legal advice, but we want to give you some useful information and links that may help you better understand the regulations in Dunsmuir, California. This list is not exhaustive, but it should give you a good start in understanding your local laws. If you have questions, please contact the City of Dunsmuir at (530) 235-4822.

Short-term rental regulations

The Dunsmuir Municipal Code allows short-term rentals (30 days or less) in all zones that allow residential use. In order to operate in the City, Hosts must obtain a valid registration certificate, business license, and Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) registration. Hosts can hold up to two registration certificates, and must adhere to operating and safety standards outlined in Ordinance 570.

Registration process

Step 1: Complete the City’s Short-Term Rental Registration online form, and submit the $370 fee. This registration must be renewed annually.

Step 2: Complete the TOT registration form. While Airbnb collects and remits TOT on behalf of Hosts in Dunsmuir, the City requires this information and sworn statement that Hosts are aware of these taxes.

Step 3: Complete a Business License application, marking Classification A. Then mail to the City of Dunsmuir (5915 Dunsmuir Ave, Dunsmuir, CA 96025) along with applicable fees, or email (adminasst@ci.dunsmuir.ca.us) and pay by phone

Step 4: Schedule and pay for fire inspection by calling (530) 235-4822 ex.t 102 or emailing adminasst@ci.dunsmuir.ca.us. Submit the completed inspection form to the City

Step 5: Once you receive your Short-Term Rental Registration number from the City, remember to add it to your listing advertisement

Other rules

It's also important to understand and abide by other contracts or rules that bind you, such as leases, condo board or co-op rules, HOA rules, or rules established by tenant organizations. Please read your lease agreement and check with your landlord if applicable.

Our commitment to your community

We’re committed to working with local officials to clarify how local rules impact the short-term rental community. We will continue to advocate for changes that will enable people to share their homes.
