An incredible panoply of sights and sounds While perhaps not one of Athens' best known tourist attractions, the Central Market deserves a place in the top ten of any ravenous carnivore. Occupying a significant portion of a city block, the market is arranged by land and sea. The periphery of the market is given over to meat. Vendor after vendor of meat of all variety is a feast for the senses - hanging beef, pork, goat, rabbit - it's all there. The center of the building is entirely devoted to seafood!
